Kim Huggens has been studying and reading Tarot since the age of 9 and has been a professional Tarot reader since 2003.

well as co-author with Nic Phillips of “Sol Invictus: The God Tarot” (Schiffer Books, 2007), and the in-progress Tarot deck “Pistis Sophia: The Goddess Tarot”. She gives Tarot

workshops, classes, and lectures around the UK. Since 2003 Kim has also been a practicing Vodouisante, and in 2009 she initiated as Hounsi Lave Tet into the Haitian Vodou tradition with Houngan Hector Salva of Sosyete Gade Nou Leve. As a servant of Bondye and Ginen, Kim creates beautiful works of art inspired by Haitian folkart, including bootay lwa (decorated bottles that can be used to make offerings), voodoo dolls (images of the spirits of Vodou), and magickally-themed jewelery.

In her spare time Kim is an editor and proofreader for Avalonia Books, and edits anthologies focusing on magickal and Pagan themes. Previous anthologies include “From a Drop of Water” (Avalonia Books, 2009) and “Vs.” (Avalonia Books, 2010), and she ic currently working on her next anthology, “Memento Mori” (Avalonia Books.) She is also a prolific author, contributing papers and articles to several magazines, academic journals, and anthologies. Her work has appeared in “The Mithras Reader (vol. 2)”, “Horns of Power” (Avalonia Books, 2008), “Priestesses, Pythonesses and Sibyls” (Avalonia Books, 2008), and “Both Sides of Heaven” (Avalonia Books, 2009.)  It is due to appear in “The Conjure Condex” (Hadean Press, 2011, ed. Jake Stratton-Kent).

Kim is also a speaker, lecturer and workshop leader. She travels around the UK giving talks and workshops on her various research interests, at events such as Pagan Federation conferences, the Mercian Gathering, Bournemouth Conference of Magic, Tarosophy Conference, Glastonbury Occult Conference and the Health and Healthy Living Fayre. Talk subjects include Tarot, Vodou, mythology, necromancy, and ancient Graeco-Roman magic.

Kim lives, works and plays in Cardiff, Wales (UK) with her partner and their black cat named Erzulie (who enjoys a good Tarot reading herself!) She moved to Cardiff in 2002 and in 2005 gained her BA (Hons) in Philosophy at Cardiff University. In 2007 she completed at MA at the university in Religious Studies, and has now completed 1 year of PhD research in the Ancient History department (currently on hold). Kim is also Bodymaster of Tamion OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis) and organizes regular workshops and events for the group.
